We warmly invite parents of our young learners to participate in the classes, should they wish to do so. At present, our students span an age range of 5 to 65 and beyond.

Please understand that all our members are urged to develop at a rate that suits their individual needs, within a setting where physical safety and emotional respect are guaranteed.

Our objective is to impart the knowledge of karate in an enjoyable manner, whilst also nurturing the confidence and support our students require to attain a Black belt. Our doors are open to everyone, irrespective of age or skill level. You need not be exceptionally fit or overly confident - simply join us and give a few lessons a shot.

Question & Answer

Do I have to be in shape to get started?

Not at all. You’ll find that our classes for beginners are the perfect way to build up your overall fitness level regardless of your physical condition.

Can I watch my child in class?

Yes! Come along as we actively encourage parents and guardians to watch, as this gives you an insight into how they are getting on.  All we ask is you introduce yourself to one of our instructors then take a seat.

Am I too old to start Tang Soo Do Karate?

No, of course not. We cater for all ages and levels of experience. Take your time and work within your own abilities. Start by learning the fundamentals and see how you progress.

Will I get hurt during the training?

Our instructors will teach you the core skills and how to execute them safely. All our instructors are trained and classes are supported with insurance in the unlikely event of injury.

Self-Awareness

Self-awareness is about learning to better understand why you feel what you feel and why you behave in a particular way. Once you begin to understand this concept you then have the opportunity and freedom to change things about yourself enabling you to create a life that you want.

Self-Confidence

Self-confidence is an attitude about your skills and abilities. It means you accept and trust yourself and have a sense of control in your life. You know your strengths and weakness well and have a positive view of yourself. You set realistic expectations and goals, communicate assertively, and can handle criticism.

Self-Belief

Self-belief means knowing yourself as a person in your own right, trusting in your own judgement, your intuitions and sense-making, how your point of view is of value, how you step up to challenges, even if you do not yet have the knowledge. Then, how you understand your capacity to learn, experiment, explore, inquire, to have a go, to imagine success.
